Eat Your Heart Out! 7 Day Diet
I have finally achieved eating as much cheese and Christmas cookies one should eat during the holiday season. On top of that I felt it was appropriate to take a break from working out during my binging of cheese and sweets. I was having a hard time getting my groove on at the gym lately. I decided I needed a jump start and a detox to get me going back to eating healthy and wanting to be in shape. I turned to Pinterest to see what I could come up with.... Lose 10+ pounds in 7 days sounded right up my ally. I read the daily allowed foods and figured I could do this. I am starting tomorrow....
I took to blogging this because I really enjoyed reading other blogs on how people felt, what they ate and ultimately the end result. Official weigh in tomorrow morning.
DAY 1-
For breakfast was hot black tea...got to be real, I wasn't about to give up caffeine. Black tea has just as much caffeine as coffee... benefit....coffee has a lot of "toxins" during the process of producing it. Tea is a much healthier option. A mix bowl of fruit. Watermelon, Apple, tangerine, blueberries, strawberries. Couldn't finish the whole bowl. I decided that it was smart to take a multi Vitamin along with a probiotic and a potassium/calcium/magnesium supplement. I am going to take these twice a day. Keep the electrolytes going.
Lunch involved mango and raspberries. I was hungry and hour later and want a sandwich in the worst way. I snacked on kiwi and apple slices. Finished my day with another bowl of mixed fruit. I was surprised that by 7pm I wasn't starving or crabby. Bedtime I did have a headache. I know that I need to be better at the water thing. Looking forward to some veggies tomorrow.
Day 2 Veggie Day!
I wasn't sure how I was going to handle breakfast, vegetables without an egg just seemed impossible. I justified an avocado with lemon juice on top of cucumber slices and of course, my tea. Then I took to the internet, and learned something new, an avocado is a fruit! How about that day 2 and I already cheated. Oh well, it was yummy. And kept me full till lunch. Steamed asparagus and mushrooms only kept me full for about an hour. I decided that since I was going to the gym later that evening I was going to eat my baked potato earlier in the day. I read up later after eating it that it's a good idea to have it for breakfast....who knew!! I kept me full the whole rest of the day and only needing two carrot sticks to end my day.
Day 3 Fruit and Veggies
I am sooooooo hungry! Can't stop eating fruit and vegetables. I truly want to eat my fingers. ANYTHING with protein.I can't stop thinking about the massive amounts of chicken I will consume in a couple days. I am down 2 pounds so that is a plus, but starving today is not. It's only lunch time, I am afraid of whom ever will be near me at dinner! I AM SERIOUSLY HANGRY. I finished off my night with a cup of veggie broth and steamed veggies. Not a good day.
Day 4
Banana day! Well the morning started off with a banana blended with a plain yogurt. Not to bad, based on the last three mornings.
I did the same thing with a second banana and put them in a silicone ice tray to freeze. For the night. On to work with six bananas and 5 cups of milk.....
